Tribe's Court Judge Appointment Extended

TEMOAK TRIBE - Judge Bill Kockenmeister will continue to be the Tribe's judge for at least sixty days.
Kockenmeister's appointment as the judge for the Tribe's court was set to end at the beginning of July, but due to the Bureau of Indians Affairs late notice to the Tribe of the end of the judge's term of office, the Tribe agreed to have Kockenmeister's appointment extended sixty days.
The Tribe has expressed to the BIA the concerns of the court and that a new judge is in the best interest of the Tribe.
Along with the sixty day appointment extension, the Tribe wants a list of candidates from the BIA of who can fill Kockenmeister's position.
