UPDATE - Chimney Fire Burned Close, No Structure Loss

     SOUTH FORK BAND - The so-called "Chimney Fire" burned onto the South Fork Reservation, but no structures on the reservation were lost.  The fire is 65 percent contained.

     SOUTH FORK BAND - It is being reported that the so-called "Chimney Fire" has reached the South Fork reservation, prompting evacuations.

Te-Moak Tribe Sues Interior Over South Fork Band Dispute

According to the Reno Federal Court, the Te-Moak Tribe filed suit against the Department of Interior and the Bureau of Indian Affairs over South Fork Band recall dispute.  The Te-Moak Tribe sued the Department because of a court ruling that said the tribe could be sued in court.

Tribal Council Meeting Tonight

     TE-MOAK TRIBE - The Te-Moak Tribal Council has scheduled a special meeting tonight at 5:00 pm to discuss the South Fork Band special election.

     SOUTH FORK BAND - The Elko Daily Free Press has the article Lee woman accused of cattle theft that begins "An area woman faces two misdemeanor charges related to cattle theft after her recent indictment in tribal court."

Court Issues Injunction on SF Recall

     SOUTH FORK BAND - It is being reported that on Friday, Judge William Kockenmeister has issued an injunction bringing a halt to the upcoming South Fork recall election.  More news will be posted as it develops.

Tribal Council Accepts Recall Petition

     SOUTH FORK - It is being reported that the Te-Moak Tribal Council accepted a petition calling for the recall of all the members of the South Fork Band Council.

Tribal Offices Closed Tomorrow

     TEMOAK TRIBE - The Tribal and Band offices will be closed tomorrow October 29, for the Nevada Day holiday.

New Tribal Council Member Sworn In

     SOUTH FORK BAND - Brandon Reynolds, South Fork Band Vice-Chairman, was sworn in as the newest member of the Te-Moak Tribal Council.  Reynolds replaces Larson Bill as the South Fork Band representative.

     SOUTH FORK BAND - It is being reported that the South Fork Band Council will replace council member Larson Bill's vacancy on the Te-Moak Tribal Council with another band council member after Bill's unexpected resignation.

     TEMOAK TRIBE - With the Te-Moak Tribe being granted the SORNA extension and lacking any tribal laws covering sex offenders, the tracking of sex offenders within the reservation is left to tribal members.

     SOUTH FORK BAND - The South Fork Band Council faces another lawsuit, this time ex-employee Marvin McDade filed a complaint against the band council.

Land Assignment Takings Under Review

     SOUTH FORK BAND - In July, the South Fork Band Council took back the land assignments of Floyd Bill and Chester Knight because of their absence from the South Fork area, and now, the Tribal Council will review the taking of the land assignments.
