SOUTH FORK - It is being reported that the Te-Moak Tribal Council accepted a petition calling for the recall of all the members of the South Fork Band Council.
On Friday, the Tribal Council held a special meeting to consider the recall petition from the voters of the South Fork Band area. The recall petition targeted all the members of the South Fork Band Council, except for Larson Bill who had resigned earlier.
The recall petition was brought to the Tribal Council since the all the members of the South Fork Band Council were a part of the petition and the Band Council lack of an election committee.
The recall petition was accepted by the Tribal Council as valid and since there is no band election committee in South Fork, the Tribal Council will have the tribal election board conduct the special recall election.
The special election will determine if the South Fork Band Council members who are subject of the recall petition will actually be recalled. The time and date of the special recall election is unknown at this time.
