TEMOAK TRIBE - It is begin reported the Tribal Council once again tabled the banishment ordinance.
The banishment legislation would remove any tribal member from the reservation who "threatens the health, safety, or welfare of the Te-Moak Tribe by engaging in any felony crime or threaten or harm with a deadly weapon."
With federal prosecution failure to prosecute crimes, the banishment legislation would be another useful tool in addition to tribal prosecution.
Other draft legislation tabled by the Tribal Council this month are is the ethics and election ordinance and the liquor ordinance amendment.
